Kelly Clarkson gained a slight edge Tuesday on The Voice as her singer Corey Ward won the Wild Card Instant Save to join the top nine.

The 39-year-old pop star will have three singers performing live next week while fellow coaches Blake Shelton, 44, John Legend, 42, and Nick Jonas, 28, each only have two singers remaining on their teams.

Corey, 34, faced off against Blake’s singer Pete Mroz, John’s contestant Ryleigh Modig, and Nick’s performer Jose Figueroa Jr during the Wild Card Instant Save with viewer voting determining the winner.

Nick’s team was up next and Rachel Mac was saved by America, while Nick decided to keep Dana Monique.
