Miranda Hart said she’s only recently learned to love herself
The 42-year-old funny-woman stands at a lofty 6ft 1in and admitted she felt “like a fish out of water” growing up taller than her peers.
Miranda – who made her name in her eponymous BBC sitcom and is now starring in Hollywood comedy Spy – said only as she’s got older has she been able to feel comfortable in her own skin.
The Call The Midwife star also admitted her height gave her a different outlook on her career.
In an interview with the Mirror, she said: “Being taller and bigger than most actresses I knew, I was never going to play the girlfriend or the daughter, so I wrote my own show.

“Growing up when you are tall you feel like fish out of water and feel different and you don’t fit in.
“But as you get older you just think, I can’t change it – I am who I am and I have got to love myself,” she continued.
“So now I try and put my shoulders back and be a bit more confident about it.”
The actress stars alongside Bridesmaids star Melissa McCarthy in Hollywood blockbuster Spy.
Both actresses revealed dramatic weight losses as they stepped out at the London premiere of the movie earlier this week.

Miranda looked slimmer than ever as she flaunted her curves in figure-hugging jumpsuit while Melissa highlighted her streamlined body in a full-length snake print dress.
Devon-born Miranda originally decided to shed the pounds after turning 40 in December 2012.
Speaking about her reasons for doing so at the time, she said: “The reason I’m set on losing weight is that I’m not naturally this big, I’m naturally lean.
“When I put on weight, I feel like this isn’t me, this isn’t right. I feel like I’m wearing a fat suit.”
Spy hits cinemas on June 5.
