How Many Grammy Awards Did Beyoncé Win in 2021?
When we think of successful musicians, Beyoncé is one of the first people who comes to mind. The singer has been dominating the music industry since her early days with Destiny’s Child. Today, she’s one of the most accomplished singers in the music business, and she has a ton of awards to prove it.
Beyoncé took home her very first Grammy in 2000
Beyoncé’s first Grammy win came in 2000 when she and the other members of Destiny’s Child took home trophies for their hit song, “Say My Name.”
It wasn’t until three years later she won her very first Grammy Award as a solo artist. That year, the Queen Bey took home more awards than she could carry, thanks to her first solo project, Dangerously In Love. The singer took home five awards that night, four of which were for her songs “Dangerously In Love 2” and “Crazy In Love.”
Over the next few years, Beyoncé received countless awards and nominations during the coveted event.
Beyoncé won four awards at the 2021 Grammy Awards
During the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards, which took place in March 2021, Beyoncé found herself adding more awards to her collection.
The singer took home four trophies that night, including the award for best R&B performance for her song “Black Parade.” Though receiving accolades for her music is nothing new for Beyoncé, this year’s Grammy Awards was especially meaningful to the singer as she took home her 28th Grammy, which is the most a singer has ever earned, according to the official Grammy website.
As expected, Beyoncé was overcome with emotion when her name was called and couldn’t keep the smile off of her face as she gave a speech with her 28th Grammy award in hand.
“I am so honored, I am so excited. Thank you guys,” Beyoncé said. “As an artist, I believe it’s my job, and all of our jobs to reflect the times, and it’s been such a difficult time. So I wanted to uplift, encourage, and celebrate all of the beautiful black queens and kings that continue to inspire me and inspire the whole world.”
The star said that she’d been working “since nine years old” to get to that moment before acknowledging that her very own 9-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy, had taken home her first Grammy Award just a few hours beforehand.
“I know my daughter is watching — my two daughters and my son. Blue, congratulations!” the “Formation” singer continued. “She won a Grammy tonight! I’m so proud of you! And I’m so honored to be your mommy, all of your mommies, I’m so proud of y’all.”
Beyoncé is the most-nominated female artist in Grammy history
In addition to having 28 Grammy wins under her belt, Beyoncé also has a whopping 79 nominations to her name, making her the most nominated woman in Grammy history.
She is currently tied with Paul McCartney as the second-most-nominated artist of all time, behind her husband Jay-Z, who received three nominations this year, and Quincy Jones, who each have been nominated 80 times.
